How it works

01 — Tell me about your family and your project

You’ll complete a detailed questionnaire covering your current home, your plans, your routines, what isn't working now and what you need in the new space to have differently.

02 — I get into the plans

I look at your plans alongside how your family uses the home, furniture, circulation, storage, kitchen use and all the everyday details that can easily be missed at planning stage.

03 — Your design takes shape

Depending on the service you choose, I develop your optimised floor plan or take the design further into kitchens, storage, finishes and concept visuals.

04 — You build with a plan

You have a clear design to work from and can move into the next stage of your renovation knowing the important layout decisions have already been thought through.

A floor plan can look perfectly good on paper and still not work particularly well once you live in the house.

That’s why I look beyond whether everything technically fits.

I consider how the spaces connect, how you move through your home, where furniture and storage need to be and how the layout needs to work for your family day to day.

I also consider: What will the overall look and feel be? What flooring and materials will work throughout? Where will you need bespoke joinery? And how should your lighting and electrical plan work around the furniture and the way you’ll use each space?

The aim is to make these decisions before you build, so your new space isn’t just bigger or better looking, but genuinely planned around the way you live and how it will come together.

My approach

I believe the way your home is planned can have a real impact on everyday family life.

When your home supports your routines and is easier to keep organised, everyday life can feel easier too.

Good design won’t make family life stress-free, but it can take away some of the unnecessary stress that comes from a home that doesn’t work for you.

That’s why I care so much about getting the foundations of your design right. The layout, storage and kitchen need to work for the way your family lives, while the colours, materials, finishes and joinery bring everything together and make the space feel like your home.

It’s about thinking through both how your home will work and how it will feel, so the decisions you make during your renovation come together as one considered design rather than a series of separate choices made along the way.
